Jeff S. Chimenti, MD, lives in the Woodlands, Texas with his three sons, Michael, Stephen, and Mark. He is one of the founding partners of Texas Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialists, P.A. and enjoys his busy medical and surgical practice. Although he spends much of his spare time with his sons and their activities, he has recently found time to write his first two novels, The Edge of Forever, and the sequel, The Edge of Forever: Brink of Extinction. His background in science brings scary realism to each of the stories he creates, and he hopes to have many more unforgettable novels released in the next few years.
More about me:
This is my first published novel, but I probably should have been writing books and screenplays for the past 25 years because my creative side has been aching to be released. I currently have about 20 other ideas for books that I'm eager to start writing. I've also started writing the third book in The Edge Of Forever series, in addition to the book listed below, Perception.
I graduated as valedictorian from Clear Lake High School in 1980 and graduated cum laude from Baylor University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I received my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX) in 1988, and received my residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas from 1988-1993. I'm board certified in the field of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and I'm one of the founding partners of Texas Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialists, PA, which was formed in 1996.
Because of my extensive science background, I was able to bring some unique and scary realism to The Edge of Forever that I think a lot of people will find entertaining and fascinating. I did devote a large amount of time researching the geology and genetics involved in the two books which allowed me to blend real science with fiction so that the reader will be unable to tell whether its real or not.
The next book....
He is currently working on his next novel, Perception, in which a young woman, Andrea Stallman, becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse with an incredibly powerful man who is able to bend the truth in whatever direction serves his purpose at the time. "The brain believes what the mind perceives" becomes a central theme in this story that will have the readers' heads spinning from the wicked twists that hit them in rapid sequence starting on the very first page.
To save her family, and ultimately the entire country from the powerful anarchist, Max Kramer, Andrea must traverse the "perceptual minefield" that she finds herself surrounded by where everything is not what it seems. Her only salvation may come from an unlikely source--her severely autistic son, and the teenage daughter of a friend who can best communicate with him. With death around every corner, Andrea, her children, and a few friends find themselves in a harrowing adventure that will leave the reader guessing to the very end.
